1、警告。对违反行政纪律的行为主体提出告诫，使之认识应负的行政责任，以便加以警惕，使其注意并改正错误，不再犯此类错误。这种处分适用于违反行政纪律行为轻微的人员。2、记过。记载或者登记过错，以示惩处之意。这种处分，适用于违反行政纪律行为较为轻微的人员。3、记大过。记载或登记较大或较严重的过错，以示严重惩处的意思。这种处分，适用于违反行政纪律行为比较严重，给国家和人民造成一定损失的人员。4、降级。降低其工资等级。这种处分，适用于违反行政纪律，使国家和人民的利益受一定损失，但仍然可以继续担任现任职务的人员。5、撤职。撤销现任职务。这种处分适用于违反行政纪律行为严重，已不适宜担任现任职务的人员。
6、开除。也就是取消其公职。这种处分适用于犯有严重错误已丧失国家工作人员基本条件的人员。
公务员受行政处分，有处分期限的规定：警告处分半年；记过、记大过、降级处分一年；撤职处分二年。

第六条 行政机关公务员处分的种类为：
(一)警告
(二)记过；
(三)记大过；
(四)降级；
(五)撤职；
(六)开除。
第七条 行政机关公务员受处分的期间为：
(一)警告，6个月；
(二)记过，12个月；
(三)记大过，18个月；
(四)降级、撤职，24个月。
