当事人自愿履行的含义是什么？

法律分析：
当事人自愿履行是指无论当事人是否知道诉讼时效期间已过的事实，只要其出于自愿履行诉讼时效期间已过的债务，应认定该履行行为有效，其不得以其诉讼时效期间已过为由主张撤销其自愿履行行为。
法律依据：
《中华人民共和国民法典》 第一百九十二条 诉讼时效期间届满的，义务人可以提出不履行义务的抗辩。
诉讼时效期间届满后，义务人同意履行的，不得以诉讼时效期间届满为由抗辩；义务人已经自愿履行的，不得请求返还。
